Literacy and numeracy are fundamental to a student's ability to learn at school and to engage productively in society.

Literacy refers to the extent of a student's oral and written language skills and knowledge and their ability to apply these to meet the varied demands of their study and work lives.

Numeracy is the student's knowledge and understanding of mathematical concepts and ability to use mathematical knowledge to meet varied demands of study and work lives.

I understand that students' literacy and numeracy learning involves patience, time and practical approach. I, therefore, apply pragmatic methodology in teaching literacy and numeracy.

I am an enthusiastic, warm and friendly person. Driven with a positive goal of enhancing and affecting positively the lives of students, I relate each concept to student's daily experiences so they can understand and retain the knowledge better.

In teaching young learners, I try to understand how best they learn and then tailor the lessons to suit them, while laying emphasis on areas they may not have thoroughly understood.

I am passionate about teaching. I strive to help children master their numeracy, reasoning and vocabulary, including written and spoken English which are very important parts of training any student into a creative, analytical and responsible adult capable of self-sustained continuous learning. That's my joy as a teacher.

I always try to identify the learning pace and style of each child in order to ensure interesting and interactive lesson classes. I do take my time to explain, with illustrations and more examples, to the level of each student's deep understanding.
