I first stumbled upon Java Programming in a Computer Science course I offered way back in the University in 2012. Somehow I got to understand the concepts better to the point that I started organizing tutorials for other students. This I did every year from then, even till now... yes!

The results I've achieved teaching the basics of Java programming have been tremendous. Back then in school, we received positive feedback of high grades. Beyond the grades, we've had in a particular case, the birthing of a desire in a student to take up on Java programming to another level - this, as a result of the technique adopted in teaching Java.

So the gig here is this - I teach the basics of Java Programming in a unique manner that spurs you to take it to the next level all by yourself with all confidence.

Hence for this tutorial, you will need a computer of your own (preferably a laptop).
The software required to run the java programs you write will be provided for you.

Nevertheless you can give yourself a flying start by downloading them yourself from the internet. They are as follows: * java development kit (jdk) latest version * Netbeans IDE (Integrated Development Environment) latest version.

More important is the need for a projection display, for instance a TV with HDMI connectivity which we will use for the purpose of illustration.

In addition, please make available a white board with markers as the first set of lessons will be taken on the board.
