Basic sciences are a compilation of a range of interesting science topics and activities which can help build a child's knowledge of simple science concepts.
the best way to go about basic sciences as a course, is to carry out simple and safe experiments that can be done in the comfort of the home in order to build the child's interests for science.
For instance, in teaching a child the characteristics of living things, using a plant as an example, it would be cool to have the child grow his or her own plant and watch it grow, noting along the line the different processes that occurred. Or in helping the child understand the importance of oxygen for combustion, we can light a candle stick and let it burn for a while and then gently cut off the supply of oxygen by covering the candle stick with a transparent glass cup, allowing the child see the fire slowly die out as a result of the absence of oxygen.
Experience for me has shown that the more experiments a child carries out, the quicker it is to build his/her curiosity and a the same time he /she develops so easily, the understanding of some scientific facts/concepts.
