In English language, spelling is a very tricky area where children have little challenge. I make sure I give a standard assessment at the beginning of the class to help pin point the level of the student in spellings. This result helps me understand what level I need to start from in teaching the student. I teach using a lot of fun materials such as flashcards which helps boost assimilation and retention level.
While I am the authority figure in this model, I and my students play an equally active role in the learning process. My primary role is to coach and facilitate student learning and overall comprehension of material.
