Entrepreneurship is the order of the day now. As much as it is laudable to be highly educated and successful at it, it is very essential to be loaded with basic lifesaving and cost-effective skills that can fetch you cool money anytime any day.

I learned a bit of leatherwork (bag and footwear) as my SAED during my three weeks orientation program organized by NYSC. Thereafter, I developed myself by attending tutorials and also working on projects myself.

During the 2019 summer holiday, I thought fifteen students (within the age of 8 and 12 years) how to make a bag and it was done beautifully.

You will need a few tools like a mallet, shoe last, hammer magic pen and so on. Also materials like desired material for the bag/shoe, chains, leather, mako and so on.

I believe in creativity. By the time we are done with the first lesson, you'll be able to progressively work on your own and make beautiful bags and slippers that can be sold to get extra cash.

No matter how educated you are, there's a sense of fulfillment that comes from putting on footwear and using bags made by you.
