In 2012, I graduated from the university with a second class upper in Literature in English. I am passionate about reading and writing and so I decided to pursue the teaching life, as a way of helping young people become better readers and great writers. I have also attended writing workshops in Nigeria and other parts of Africa to further sharpen my skills.

I currently teach English Language Arts in a secondary school. I've been in the home tutorial business for four years, tutoring children, teens, and young adults to become better writers by consistently working on their grammar. In 2016, I helped two students of British International School prepare for their IELTS and IGCSE exams, both of which were passed in flying colors, with great scores in language and literature.

I believe that every student learns differently. So my focus is often to find how best a student learns and channel my lesson plan towards that direction. From experience, students learn well when they are fully involved, through discussion and visualization. These are my styles, usually adapted to suit a student's specific needs.

For my English language class, I would expect that the students have access to books suitable for their age, as reading will make it easier for them to point out grammatical errors in their own work, and language textbooks for further studies. Internet and a device to work with are great options that make learning less tedious and productive. If you hire me, not only are you are about to make your ward's language skills better, but you're hiring a teacher who would inspire your ward to be the best in all areas of his/her academics. I worked with a British school in Lagos as a Literacy teacher for key stage 2 pupils. English as a subject, called Literacy, is broken into three aspects following the British curriculum: Comprehension, Grammar and Creative Writing. I'm currently teaching English Language Arts in an American school.

When you book lessons, Jennifer will usually travel anywhere at most 5km (~ 30mins drive ) from Asokoro to deliver lessons.
