I teach students to:

- Become familiar with the phonemes or sound systems of the English Language, their representation, pronunciations (looking at the different mouth, lips and tongue movements), and how sounds are perceived by a first language listener.

- To make a clear distinction between phonetics and phonology and help them solve problems associated with the pronunciation of certain sounds.

- To create the best impression, particularly at a more advanced level, e.g. for job interviews and to build up the relationship between pronunciation and writing.

My lessons will delve into the articulatory, acoustic and auditory perceptions of the language; look at the notation of segments, supra-segmental, phonemics, intonation patterns, stress, syllables and the various use and dis-use of sounds.
