As a swimmer who rose from junior, intermediate to senior levels, I have swam at series of highly competitive meets such as the National sports festivals, West African Swimming Championships, Chief of Naval Staff Swim Championships to mention a few. My training as a P.E. specialist and sports administrator has also helped me to understand the best way to impart complex swimming skills such as breaststroke legs, breathing, body coordination across all strokes, and teaching butterfly.

My teaching style is based on 3 approaches which includes, practice the skill to be learnt first on land, in water, and segmentation, where the swimmer learns bit by bit. This approach is rare and very productive as it is borne out of my findings based on personal experience. The aquatic environment is naturally frightening hence beginners often fails to exhibit exactly what they are told thereby inhibiting their success in swimming. Getting learners used to the skill to be taught on land is a major tool i often used in teaching the right swimming skills, very few coaches do this.

The patience of working with children/learner with high water-phobia and poor coordination are gifts i have acquired as a trained teacher and has helped improvement on children's skills whilst inculcating positive attitudes towards swimming.
Most of my kids have moved from learners to competitive levels attending series of age group swimming Galas in Lagos.

Intending swimmers should make provisions for a clean and clear swimming pool, swimming suites for girls and trunks for boys, well fitted swimming googles, water bottles to stay hydrated during lessons, swim caps for girls with long hairs. I do not encourage the use of hand bands but could be brought along side. I will come with other training aids.
