From my perspective, I see teaching as a total experience which every student needs. Tutoring is beyond the cognitive, I look at the affective aspect of my students. With every encounter I have, I observe that anyone who is emotionally imbalanced would usually have a difficulty in learning. It is quite easy to spot the very bright students and leave out the rest. Hence, I look out for the ones who rarely participate in class activities, reach out to them so as to find out their deficiencies, meet their specific needs and elevate them to a better level. I have encountered students with slow cognition and little readiness. This problem birthed my further study in Guidance and Counselling. I have developed good interpersonal skills and other strengths which aids in bringing out the innate qualities of a student. My teaching style is centered on making teaching an art: presenting the subject matter in a light manner, beginning from simple to complex and most of all, encouraging class participation which gives ample room for students to express themselves. I'm an enthusiast for the arts, so I combine teaching with a touch of humor to allow students warm up to the subject.
