Teaching has been a part and parcel of me. From tutoring friends and colleagues since my Junior Secondary School days to JAMB/WASSCE coachings pre-Univeristy to Tutorials at Higher institution level and ultimately teaching jobs at 3 different schools and a tutor centre, I have found teaching a lovely experience. I especially feel fulfilled when my students excel at Mathematics and at other science subjects I sometimes take them.
I like to give my students pre-tutoring exercises to know how conversant they are with Mathematics and their proficiency in the subject. Based on the outcome of these exercises, I then create a teaching plan. I must say at this juncture, that even if the student seems to be totally out-of-sync with Mathematics, there is always a way to bring them in tune. I also do my best to relate Mathematics to everyday activities, even the most abstract aspect, so that my students can have a concrete grasp of Mathematics.
